At the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Art as a Journey of Adventure and Knowledge

Since its inauguration in 2017, the Louvre Abu Dhabi has always dedicated a great deal of attention to children, promoting activities and itineraries that engage the body and mind, helping them perceive art as something both fun and educational at the same time. Emotions! The New Art Adventure is the title of the new exhibition, dedicated to children, particularly those between the ages of four and ten. The three floors of the Children’s Museum have been set up in such a way that young spectators can have an adventure and explore the secret world of sentiments inside works of art. The exhibition contains ten works and four interactive stations dedicated to fundamental emotions - joy, sadness, fear and anger. Through details, colours, forms, actions, play, listening, drawing and acting, children learn to recognise their own emotions and those within works of art, understanding their causes and thus balancing them in a creative and spontaneous learning process. Thus, art becomes an instrument through which children can learn about the world around them and themselves.
