The world of the musical pays homage to one of the greatest voices of Rock, Funk and Soul in the world who, next November, will celebrate her eightieth birthday. Little more than a decade has passed since her last tour and everybody misses Tina Turner. While - incredible but true - the performer of Proud Mary and The Best enjoys a well-deserved rest in a town in Switzerland, the Aldwitch Theatre hosts her exuberant body-double - American actress Adrienne Warren who, at her debut, the rock star described as an “exceptional talent”. Wild dancing, stunning scenery and a whole lot of music helps tell the story of Tina - from her youth in Nutbush, Tennessee to her tumultuous relationship with Ike Turner, all the way up to her consecration as a legend of international Rock. It’s impossible to resist the overwhelming power of hits like What's Love Go to Do With It, River Deep Mountain High and Better Be Good To Me, not to mention the other huge aforementioned hits. The show has also received three nominations for Lawrence Olivier Awards in 2019 and the prestigious award for best actor, attributed to the rough-and-tumble Kobna Hold-Brook Smith in the role of Ike Turner.
