On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Enrico Baj (1924 - 2003), the Castello Sforzesco presents a selection of twenty works that are part of the large corpus of graphics, multiples and artist's books of the Baj Fund, kept at the Bertarelli Collection, with the aim of underlining the artist's profoundly innovative approach. According to the curators Antonello Negri and Zeno Birolli, "Baj remakes Picasso, remakes Seurat, above all he remakes Baj: then he assembles, replaces, adds". For Baj everything was interchangeable. Known to the general public for the recurring themes of his poetics, Ladies and Generals, Baj loved to experiment with different executive techniques and use different materials, from trimmings to mirrors, from Lego bricks to Meccano. The exhibition is a taste of the extraordinary world of a Milanese who loved the playful spirit of art.
