Leonardo - Nature, Art and Science
#Exhibitions

The Sala delle Asse, reopened to the public after a restoration that began in 2013, is the key location for the celebrations connected to Leonardo Da Vinci. Dialoguing with the naturalistic and landscape decor now made visible on the walls of the Sala, extraordinarily important clues for the understanding of the original compositional design, are the works of the exhibition Intorno alla Sala delle Asse. Leonardo tra Natura, Arte e Scienza. With loans from prestigious international museums, such as the Royal Collection, the Musée du Louvre, the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin and the Uffizi Galleries, the exhibition offers scholars and enthusiasts the possibility to admire the fascinating connections established by Leonardo with the work of others masters from Tuscany, beyond the Alps and from Milan itself. The itinerary was conceived around a rigorous selection of original drawings by the genius himself, as well as other masters of the Renaissance that demonstrate iconographic and stylistic links to the elements of the naturalistic and landscape decor of the Sala delle Asse, with its mulberry arbour, conceived as a monumental trompe l’oeil, its knotted trunks, the landscapes, the continuously budding leaves, progressively changing the perception of the Sala.
