Vincent van Gogh: cultured painter

Vincent van Gogh: cultured painter
#Exhibitions

An unpublished Van Gogh, told in a new way, is at the center of the exhibition set up at Mudec. Voracious reader of books and passionate collector of Japanese prints: Vincent van Gogh. Cultured Painter leads visitors through a journey that is both chronological and thematic, underlining the close relationship between the pictorial vision and the depth of the artist's cultural dimension. In the rooms the over 40 works are presented to the public in dialogue with the first common thread of the exhibition, that is, with a careful selection of over thirty original editions of art books and magazines, coming from the collection of the curator Mariella Guzzoni and from the Biblioteca Malatestiana, scattered in themed windows along the entire route. An exhibition made possible thanks to loans from the Kröller-Müller Museum, the prestigious institution in Otterlo which owns an extraordinary collection of paintings and drawings by the Dutch painter second only to that of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
