A flash of light, time and movement irradiate from the works of Luisa Lambri to reach the spectator, inviting them into a dialogue with the space and the private realm of the artist. Concentrating primarily on photography, the work of Lambri involves an extended spectrum of subjects that revolve around the human condition and her rapport with space, architecture, the history of abstract photography, feminism, memory and identity. The exhibition at the PAC – Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea - intends to be an homage to the art critic Carla Lonzi who, in 1969, before leaving the profession to embrace militant feminism, published a collection of interviews, entitled Autoritratto, where fourteen voices, chosen by her, told of their experiences regarding the avant-garde of the Sixties. The resulting dialogue offers a dimension of the artists which highlights their active role in speaking of themselves and their position as artists and human beings. In the same way, Lambri weaves an intimate view of her subjects, starting a dialogue with the observer. Also for this occasion, the photos of the artist interact with the exhibition space, making every project a site-specific work. In the spaces of Via Palestro, the visitor encounters an ample selection of works created between 1999 and 2017, some never before displayed in Italy, from which emerges the tendency of Lambri to work in series, in dialogue with work from artists such as Donald Judd, Lygia Clark, Lucio Fontana, as well as the work of architects like Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Giuseppe Terragni, among others.
