Dismantling the long months of silence, much in the way of Serbian-born United States poet Charles Simić and his collection of poems of the same name, the 25th Edition of Miart goes “live” with an affirmative motto - trust. With an eye on poetry, interpreted as a form of universal language - starting from the title chosen to accompany the 2021 Edition, Dismantling the Silence - the international fair of modern and contemporary art of Milan, organised by Fiera Milano, will be directed for the first time by Nicola Ricciardi. The 145 galleries representing 20 different nations, divided into five sections (Established Contemporary, Established Masters, Emergent, Decades, Generations), will present in the pavilions of Fieramilanocity - as well as on a dedicated digital platform - works by important contemporary artists, modern masters and emerging talents. Through dialogues, discoveries and rediscoveries, from the start of the 1900s to the creations of recent generations, Miart is a true international show with a vast array of works on hand. Animated by a desire to “bring together, piece by piece, the starry worlds” - through a new offer entitled, in fact, Starry Worlds - the fair called upon various of the city’s institutions for help, asking star artists to share pieces of verse, citations and fragments of poetry which have influenced them.
