Small precious objects that tell History

Small precious objects that tell History
#Exhibitions

Luxury, fashion, refinement. Words that evoke France and that resonate as evidence of habits and customs of an everyday life that is embodied in the customs of the beau monde at every latitude of the planet even in our days. The Luxe de poche exhibition at the Musée Cognacq-Jay presents an exceptional collection of small precious and sophisticated objects, in gold, enriched with semi-precious stones or precious stones, covered with mother-of-pearl, porcelain or translucent enamels, sometimes decorated with miniatures. The exhibition aims to renew the way we look at these objects, adopting an approach that appeals to both the history of art and the history of fashion, the history of techniques, cultural history and anthropology.
