Architecture is mobile, who would have said? Versatile and multifunctional, the new architectural spaces obey an imperative: to be multitasking. For two simple reasons: space in the metropolis is increasingly contracting and waste is no longer allowed. The Diller Scofidio + Renfro studio has been working on the concept of movement for years, drawing inspiration from the hyper-technological future of transformers or contemporary cyborgs. Buildings that change configuration, equipped with mobile elements, that inflate or turn to welcome visitors to build better relationships with those who live in them and with the environment: this is the world of construction that awaits us. The exhibition is curated by one of the most famous and influential design studios in the world, which is also a protagonist.

Riccardo Benassi, Monia Ben Hamouda and Binta Diaw are the three finalist artists of the MAXXI Bvlgari Prize 2024, the fourth edition of the award that aims to support and promote young contemporary art. The winner whose work will be acquired by the Roman museum will be announced in March 2025.

On display is a set of self-portraits from the collection of Franco and Maria Antonietta Nobili, ranging from the most famous names in early and late twentieth-century Italian art, such as Giacomo Balla, Giorgio de Chirico, Mino Delle Site, Emilio Greco to the equally famous names of the Roman School and its surroundings.

In the rotunda on the main floor and in the seven rooms that radiate from it, a series of significant environmental works will be exhibited through which to retrace themes and revealing images of the work of one of the world's great Italian artists.
