The artistic duo TTOZOI “paints” in an unconventional way, capturing what the ancients called “genius loci”, or the authentic spirit of a place. Their art draws the technique of creation from biology, the creative gesture from the environment. The canvases, wet with water and flour, are completely sealed, closed in overlapping wooden cases and left in the dark for about 40 days. The TTOZOI intervene to stop the transformation process of the molds, returning the final work of art. The 30 works exhibited at the Museo Carlo Bilotti were placed in 3 Italian UNESCO sites: the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Amphitheater of Pompeii and the Colosseum. There the molds were transformed, storing the air of the historical places and becoming impregnated with the Genius Loci that, in fact, hosted them.
