Oda Nobunaga, beyond the myth

Oda Nobunaga, beyond the myth
#Exhibitions

Oda Nobunaga (1534 - 1582) was a warlord who lived through a turbulent era in Japanese history. The Eisei Bunko Museum preserves 59 letters from Oda Nobunaga, precious documents through which we can retrace the tumultuous decade that began with the clash with Ashikaga Yoshiaki with the consequent fall of the Ashikaga shogunate after 250 years, up to his tragic end, which occurred on 21 June 1582 in what is known as the Honnoji Incident, Nobunaga's forced suicide at the hands of his general Akechi Mitsuhide. An exhibition that allows us to tell, beyond the myth, the true personality of the famous leader who failed in his attempt to unify Japan.
