The  Red Brick Art Museum, with its impressively ample exhibition spaces and vast private collection, presents a collective featuring important Chinese artists Chen Shaoxiong, Chen Zhen, Hong Hao, Huang Yongping, Liang Shaoji, Lin Tianmiao, Song Dong, Tao Hui, Wang Gongxin, Yang Zhenzhong, Yin Xiuzhen and international artists Olafur Eliasson - who offers a piece for the museum’s online platform - as well as Anne Rochat, Rachel Rose and Anri Sala. 2020 is already seen as a massive turning point for all of humanity - the health emergency with its geo-political and socio-cultural consequences, as well as economic repercussions, has forced a re-examination of national and international dynamics on the microcosmic and macrocosmic levels. The works in 2020 +, far from offering solutions or obvious outlooks, invite the spectator to take on the complexity of the contemporary situation in terms of humanity and nature, the constant necessity of introspection in a constantly-evolving world, the interdependence of history and memory, the individual and the collective. Among the most poetic and powerful pieces for their sheer simplicity and immediacy, Boundary Stele by Song Dong, a stele upon which the public can leave messages written in water and the iconic Crystal Landscape of Inner Body by the late Chen Zhen, twelve internal organs made of crystal placed on a transparent table.
