For his first personal exhibition in Asia, M WOODS invites internationally famed artist and former fashion stylist Martin Margiela to reinvent the home of the museum through a series of installations, sculptures, performances, collages, paintings and new films on commission. The exhibition - presented in tight collaboration with Lafayette Anticipations, Fondation d’Entreprise Galeries Lafayette - where Martin Margiela held his first personal exhibition in 2021 - includes over 50 new works of art and installations with interactive performances and site-specific projects. Developed over the arc of a year with the artist himself, the exhibition concentrates on the continuous dialogue that Martin Margiela created, inspired by art, materials, the body, time, genres and the participation of the public. Since the 1980s, Martin Margiela made a name for himself thanks to experimental runway shows in which a syncretism of genres, culture and approaches made him one of the most iconic and independent voices of fashion in recent decades.
An exhibition that reflects on the sense of (hyper)connection of our times.
