The first international exhibition dedicated to Vietnamese contemporary artist Trần Lương. From painting to installation to performance, the exhibition delves into Trần's life and work. From his early days as a painter, the exhibition recounts his transition to conceptual and performance art and his founding role within the Vietnamese contemporary art scene. From his lyrical paintings, which draw on memories of a childhood spent on the move and hiding from bombs in the Vietnam War, to his more recent participatory performances. A complex artist who is also active in Hanoi's cultural scene, co-founding the experimental art space Nhà Sàn Studio in 1998, founding the Hanoi Contemporary Art Center in 2000, and directing the current APD Center.
