After a triumphant tour of Australia, New Zealand, Israel and North America, the largest itinerant exhibition ever dedicated to Banksy comes to the heart of London. In Covent Garden, in the enormous spaces of an old mussel warehouse, we can admire prints, stencils, canvases, sculptures, totally unique pieces as well as limited number editions created between 1997 and 2008, the most appreciated period in the career of the street artist. The works on display come from forty collections from around the globe and represent an incredible opportunity to admire the works of this globe-trotting artist in a single location. There are also pieces of his famed murals, including some absolute icons. Next to rarities never displayed before, we find celebrated works like Girl and Balloon, Flower Thrower, Love is in the Air and Rude Copper. Brought together, they enable light to be shed on the personality of the most influential and talked-about artist of the contemporary scene who, despite his global fame, has remained shrouded in mystery. The exhibition, the organisers say, is absolutely not-authorised, in other words, a real Bansky-style event. And if the anonymous graffiti artist of Bristol has anything to say about it, he just has to step up - what goes around, comes around.
When Art is an Incantation. The Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy
An edition has never been missed since 1769, the most prestigious artistic showcase of the United Kingdom - over one-thousand works from around the world to celebrate the joy of creating, guided by Yinka Shonibare.
In the Land of the Aborigene - Australia at the Tate Modern
The first inhabitants of the Terra Australis are finally being recognised for their role in history. Thirty contemporary art works are a testimony to their journey up to now, with diverse voices and perspectives.
