The creative itinerary of Giorgio Morandi colours autumn at the Palazzo Reale. The exhibition offers visitors a look at the mental process of the artist to help the public comprehend the profundity of his painting and the enigmatic power of his canvases. The through-line of the exhibition is the goal of the studies of the artist as he himself declared, depicting bottles, vases, still lifes, extracted from their functional context and analysed in terms of their pure essence, seeking, as he said himself, “The capacity to touch the depths, the essence of things.” The itinerary, created with the scientific collaboration of the Museo Morandi, embraces a stunning selection of works, particularly meaningful to the painter and engraver from Bologna, one of the protagonists of Italian painting of the 1900s, on loan from Italian and international collections.
