Art, horses and riders

More horses. Also at the Musée Cernuschi, as in other Parisian museums, the theme of equestrian art is at the center of an exhibition. Here the theme is expressed in a different key, in an exhibition that focuses on the history of equestrian art in ancient China. The selected works evoke the importance of horse riding in military, recreational and sporting activities, and also as an indicator of social prestige. The theme of the horse has crossed, for more than a millennium, sculpture, painting and even poetry in China and in the neighboring countries of Central Asia or the steppes North of Mongolia.
