The Olivier Awards are presented annually by the Society of London Theatre to recognise excellence in West End theatre productions and other major London-based non-commercial theatres across a range of categories including plays, musicals, dance, opera and affiliated theatre. Internationally regarded as the highest honour in British theatre - equivalent to Broadway’s Tony Awards and French Molière Award - the Olivier Awards were first established in 1976 and this year marks the 40th anniversary of celebrated actor Sir Laurence Olivier lending his name to the ceremony in 1984. The Royal Albert Hall event is available exclusively to Mastercard holders, who are entitled to purchase tickets.
