#Exhibition
Peter Kennard, The Gamble, Photomontage, gelatin silver prints and ink on card, 1986 | A/POLITICAL

Archive of Dissent marks one of the most extensive exhibitions of the work of Peter Kennard, an artist and activist, Emeritus Professor of Political Art at the Royal College of Art. A show conceived specifically for the Whitechapel Gallery and occupying three galleries within the former library space, it brings together many of his best-known works. Peter Kennard has produced some of the most iconic and influential images of resistance and dissent in the world of propaganda art since the 1970s. From the Vietnam War, the anti-apartheid movement, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) and the Stop the War Coalition campaigns of the 2000s, to the current wars in Ukraine and Gaza and his ongoing commitment to environmental activism, Kennard has developed a unique approach that bridges art and politics and that speaks to a wide range of audiences.
