It is a Milanese story that began on the school benches. Aldo Ballo and Marirosa Toscani began their career as photographers in the early 1950s. Marirosa, after attending the Brera Art School, devoted herself to photographic reportage and worked for her father, the photographer Fedele Toscani, owner of the Rotofoto agency. After attending the same high school, Aldo studied at the Milan Polytechnic and at the Monte Olimpino Studio in Como, founded by Bruno Munari and dedicated to cinematographic experimentation. He also worked for Rotofoto. In 1956, Marirosa and Aldo opened what would become the most important photographic studio for design photography, where organization, professionalism and expertise would lead the Ballos to reach levels of absolute excellence. The exhibition includes over a hundred photographs from the Ballo+Ballo studio, some design objects and other original objects that belonged to the two photographers, as well as vintage magazines with which the Ballos collaborated.
