The water, light and breath of Bijoy Jain

The water, light and breath of Bijoy Jain
#Exhibitions

Bijoy Jain is committed to the creation of architecture, embodied in water, air and light, synthesized to the rhythm of human breathing. In this exhibition the Indian architect was invited by the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain to create a significant exhibition that by exploring the boundaries between art, architecture and matter, offers a space of quiet contemplation and reverie, in dialogue with the building of Jean Nouvel to reflect a way of thinking that considers time and movement as an essential construct in the creation of space and in giving shape to design and architectural constructions. For this exhibition Bijoy Jain in turn invited two other very particular creatives to collaborate on this project: the Chinese artist Hu Liu and the Turkish-Danish ceramist Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye. In the process of creating their work, all three practices are integrated into gesture, materiality, time, movement and space and therefore share the same sensibility and ethics.
