The Design

Beyond its imposing façade, the Hotel features some 14,000 square metres spread over seven floors, and is a wonderful example of rationalist architecture. Designed by the architect Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo and built between 1936 and 1938, it was restored using the same painstaking attention to detail that Bvlgari brings to all of its creations, which is reflected in innumerable choices and architectural details.

Bulgari Hotel Roma - The Bulgari Bar

The design of the interiors at the Bvlgari Hotel Roma was entrusted to the Italian architecture and interior design firm ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, who oversee the design of all Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts properties. The team softened the building’s aesthetic rigour of ancient Roman stone and clean architectural lines with rich textures and materials throughout the interior.

Hand-crafted marble mosaic roundels, custom-made fabrics inspired by iconic Bvlgari-designed motifs, handcrafted Murano glass and lights, original Ginori vases from the 1930s made by Gio Ponti and walls in blown Venetian crown glass are just some of the unique elements that embellish the various areas of the hotel.
