Dan Er explores visual language through materials, decorative patterns, folk dances, and stucco work. The artist adopts a physical and intuitive approach to understand and employ new forms of expression, revealing historical and cultural variations.
Among the key works, Greetings No.1: Image Library (2022) gathers wooden printing stamps, observed and reinterpreted by Dan Er to generate new visual patterns, reflecting on the relationship between unity and fragmentation. In Greetings No.7 (2024), the artist allows herself to be inhabited by the spirit of different cultures, translating lived experiences into dance performances that express the encounter between body and language. Through these works, Dan Er emerges as a translator of distant worlds, capable of listening, interpreting, and conveying emotions with authenticity.
