CoBrA Gallery, a New Addition to Shanghai’s Art Scene

CoBrA Gallery, a New Addition to Shanghai’s Art Scene
#BulgariStories

At the intersection of East Beijing Road and Middle Sichuan Road, along the Bund, the Somkeh Building is the home to the CoBrA GALLERY, a gallery founded in 2021, specialising in collectible design and contemporary art. Opened to satisfy the needs of an increasingly curious public and a clientele which is increasingly open to international tastes, CoBrA GALLERY focuses on the most interesting trends in the design world with the intent, as the name of the gallery itself indicates by referring to the Cobra Movement, to create visual ties between art and life, placing the base element of art at its centre - the creative act. The entire building, renovated according to the highest energetic standards of ARCPLUS, represents a refined and iconic example of the British Baroque style of the early years of the XX Century. The Nastro easy-chair by Joe Colombo, the Hyaline chair by Fabio Lenci, the wooden rocking chair by Carlo Ratti, the two-seat bench with table by Nanna Ditzel and the cocktail bar by Willy Rizzo are some of the pieces on display that perfectly represent the aesthetic sense of the gallery and its ambition to become an obligatory stop for every fan of global design.
