The Design Museum in London is launching a new initiative that aims to expand its exhibition program with free annual shows that showcase the work of a designer or studio that is having an impact on the world of contemporary design. Platform - this is the name of the project - opens with an inaugural exhibition dedicated to the work of Bethan Laura Wood, a multidisciplinary designer whose work is characterized by investigations into materials, artisanal collaboration and a passion for color, detail and decoration.
Featuring more than 250 works, from personal jewels and court dress to creations by Dior, Chanel and Vivienne Westwood, the show traces Marie Antoinette’s lasting impact on fashion, the decorative arts and visual culture.
