Iris van Herpen pioneer of transgression
#Exhibitions

A major exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris celebrates the creative genius of Iris van Herpen, a Dutch designer who is a pioneer in the use of new technologies in the field of fashion. With her creations, Iris van Herpen transgresses conventional clothing norms, intertwining traditional haute couture workmanship with innovative and revolutionary techniques. The exhibition questions the place of the human body in space, its relationship with clothing, its environment and its future in a rapidly changing contemporary world. A selection of over one hundred Iris van Herpen creations are put on display. Alongside them, contemporary works by artists such as Philip Beesley, Casey Curran, Jacques Rougerie and design pieces by Neri Oxman, Ren Ri and Tomáš Libertíny are presented. The exhibition is completed by objects from the field of natural sciences - such as skeletons and fossils - which, combined with the historical pieces created over the years by the Dutch designer, recreate a unique and magical atmosphere.
