On December 16 and 17, 2025 the Accor Arena in Paris will host two concerts by Lamomali, a project led by Matthieu Chedid, known as M, joined by artists such as Fatoumata Diawara and Balla Diabaté. The group will offer a musical journey blending Malian influences with modern sounds, moving between world music, pop, rock and African-inspired rhythms. Lamomali was born in 2015 from an idea by M after his collaboration with Toumani Diabaté and other Malian musicians. The name Lamomali evokes a concrete utopia, a musical space where different cultures can dialogue. The collective released its first self-titled album in 2017, followed in 2025 by Totem, conceived as a tribute to Toumani Diabaté, who passed away in 2024, and to other artists who are no longer with us. Musically, Lamomali is defined by the fusion of traditional instruments such as the kora with Malian voices including Sidiki and Balla Diabaté, alongside Fatoumata Diawara, combined with modern arrangements that weave together pop, rock and electronic elements. The album Totem features collaborations with contemporary musicians and presents songs that celebrate life, memory and cultural belonging, while reflecting both the beauty and the challenges faced by Mali.
