On the occasion of Artweek 2024, the Museo del Novecento hosts Futurist Drama, a site-specific project by Cypriot artist Haris Epaminonda. The exhibition, promoted by the Henraux Foundation and curated by Edoardo Bonaspetti, opens an unprecedented dialogue between the masterpieces of the early twentieth century in the prestigious Gallery of Futurism: on the one hand a selection of works by Medardo Rosso - a reference figure for the Futurist avant-garde - and on the other the works of Epaminondas. Through a series of installation interventions, straddling works of art and exhibition elements, Epaminonda offers us a symbolic journey full of possibilities, in which the subtle tensions between the exhibited works, the materials and the architectural space offer unusual perspectives to viewers. Futurist Drama focuses on visual codes that connect genres, languages and temporalities to offer a complex and poetic reflection on our existences and the relationships between past and present.
An exhibition that retraces some fundamental stages in the history of tattooing, one of the oldest forms of human artistic expression from its thousand-year-old origins to the present day, focusing in particular on the area of the Mediterranean basin.
