Silent Emptiness, Chiharu Shiota's solo exhibition, is currently underway at the Red Brick Art Museum. The exhibition, eagerly awaited after a long creative silence, features site-specific installations that integrate with the local architecture, blending oriental elements and local materials. The works reinterpret the concept of emptiness, transforming it into visual and tactile meditations, exalting presence in absence and transcending the everyday. Standing out among the installations are Gateway to Silence, where red threads break down the barriers of space, and Multiple Realities, where floating clothes evoke echoes of identity.
Shiota, originally from Osaka but now living in Berlin, transforms memory and experience into a philosophical manifesto on existence, where interruption and connection make new life sprout. An invitation to reflect on the profound meaning of life, death and human relationships.
