The charm of prehistoric art

The charm of prehistoric art
#Exhibitions

Prehistory is defined as the first period of human history, between the first evidence of the presence of man and the oldest written documents. In essence, Prehistory therefore ends when men begin to leave traces of their thoughts through writing. During the twentieth century, numerous scientists, intellectuals and artists began searching for the origins of humanity in an exciting adventure that led them to discover the artistic universe of the first human beings, prehistoric art and rock art. This exhibition recounts the extraordinary discoveries made in these first expeditions by ethnologists and prehistoric scholars who revealed to the world with reliefs, paintings, drawings, archives and photographs the origin of man and the origin of the world itself, essential stages in the diffusion of a global art that continues to fuel artistic creation, research and imagination even today.
