Marinella Senatore arrives in China with an exhibition project that celebrates collective participation as a form of art, transforming the space into a vibrant, festive environment animated by light, gesture, and shared words. Her visual language - blending public art, performance, luminous installations, and activism - draws strength from the communal dimension and the process of collective creation. On view, her renowned luminarie - handcrafted structures from Southern Italy - light up like ephemeral architectures dedicated not to historic heroes, but to ordinary people. Illuminated quotes, bold colors, and shapes inspired by the Baroque and traditional Italian festivals transform the gallery into a temporary zone of celebration, designed to honor the beauty of living together. At the heart of the project is The School of Narrative Dance, the nomadic, free, and non-hierarchical school founded by Senatore in 2013 - an educational platform that has engaged millions of participants around the world. In Beijing, as previously in Shenzhen in 2017, the school invites new communities to dance, tell stories, and imagine together. Because for Marinella Senatore, art is exactly that: a shared gesture that turns everyday life into possibility.
