Dutch sculptor Magali Reus is experiencing the crucial moment of her career, today she demonstrated that she has reached full maturity. In this context, the Arnaldo Pomodoro Prize for sculpture is awarded to her to underline and support her research. An acute observer of the world around her, Regus is a serial accumulator of images and various objects found on the streets, in the interiors of environments or through the digital world. She loves to express herself by playing with dimensions: she enlarges things or shrinks them, embracing the Pop Art gaze on everyday banality. Magali Reus is a sculptor in the true sense of the word. Through her works she manifests an original approach to form and space, as well as to the notion and practice of sculpture, and is capable of pushing the potential of the sculptural object in new directions.
