Universal Everything - a UK-based collective of media artists, experience designers, and future makers founded in 2004 - makes its debut in China with Future You: Code and Soul at the innovative 798CUBE in Beijing. The venue, a former industrial complex redesigned by Studio Zhu Pei, provides the ideal stage for an exhibition that blends generative art, visual computing, and sensor-based technologies to create immersive environments suspended between the human and the digital. The exhibition establishes a dialogue between past and future, featuring some of the collective’s most iconic video works - renowned for their real-time creative algorithms - alongside two new installations that explore the relationship between perception, code, and life. With responsive surfaces and evolving visual ecosystems, visitors are invited to envision new trajectories for humanity and technology. The staging enhances the poetic melancholy of the industrial setting: natural light, dramatic spatial heights, and post-industrial atmospheres merge with digital art to deliver a deeply emotional experience. Future You stands out as a vital reflection on the interactions between humans and machines, offering a glimpse of the future that continues to provoke wonder and thought.
