Wang Xun was a charismatic scholar and art historian, considered one of the founding fathers of modern Chinese art history. The essay that made him famous, and which he published when he was just 22 years old, concerns the value of jade in Chinese cultural tradition. It is a study that is still considered a milestone in jade studies because it invites a deep reflection on the spirit of Chinese art. On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Wang Xun's birth, the Tsinghua University Art Museum hosts an exhibition that through documents and historical materials, highlights the scholar's contribution to the development of academic ideas on Chinese art history.
