El Anatsui is a Ghanaian sculptor who has spent much of his artistic life in Nigeria. He is best known for his "bottle cap installations", works made up of thousands of pieces of recycled aluminium, stitched together with copper wire, which are then transformed into wall sculptures similar to large metallic fabrics. “My work has a lot to do with time, it's not something absolute, just like music...” explained El Anatsui. And this exhibition takes inspiration precisely from music, from the collection of records that the artist has collected over the years, and offers an exclusive look at the cultural influences that have played a significant role in shaping his extraordinary career.
