The fluctuations of the unconscious between the banks of a river

The fluctuations of the unconscious between the banks of a river
#Exhibitions

The sculptor Su Chang prefers the material of plaster. The artist concentrates on the point of balance between experience and memory, in front of a river. While the external environment is made up of the bed of a river, islands and streams, Su listens to the fluctuations of his unconscious and records them as they flow. The works are exhibited shortly before the gallery's move to the new space in the West Bund and it is as if they are looking from afar through the windows at the flowing Huangpu River.
Su Chang's works do not represent a final result, but testify to a process, a channel that leads to an intermediate structure for entry or escape towards elsewhere.
