Pearl Lam Gallery in Shanghai brings together seven contemporary Chinese artists - Chen Yufan, Gao Ruyun, Ni Zhiqi, Qian Jiahua, Wang Xiaosong, Zhang Ji, and Zhu Jinshi - to explore the relationship between reality and illusion, understood not as a dualism but as a process of exchange and transformation. Each artist expands on this theme through a personal visual language: Chen Yufan, inspired by Taoism, works with time and intention, Gao Ruyun investigates mechanical movement, Ni Zhiqi merges material and memory, Qian Jiahua overlaps chance and structure, Wang Xiaosong pushes beyond the limits of the canvas with curved spatial forms, Zhang Ji reinterprets sacred iconography, Zhu Jinshi combines painting and installation.
The result is a journey between the visible and the invisible, where form, concept, and material merge into a new poetic vision of reality.
