The Nonfrasa Gallery was founded in 2021 and immediately defined its identity as a platform dedicated to the discovery of emerging artists, as a real and virtual space where to undertake contemporary artistic research, stimulating dialogue and meeting. Born from an idea by Krisna Sudharma, Nonfrasa fuses avant-garde contemporary Balinese and Indonesian art, displaying it within a large space with a harmonious architectural design and clean, essential lines, and an outdoor area useful for music performances experimental. Here, ideas and art forms that are completely unusual for the local panorama alternate with installations and sculptures, paintings and photographs that express a new wave of languages. There are numerous artists who have taken turns in exhibitions, some of whom returned to Bali after studying in Yogyakarta and Bandung and who were unable to find their own dimension. The idea that their art and contributions are crucial, and that their perspectives are the way to shape Bali's art scene, is the belief that guides the activity of this sparkling new exhibition space.
