Amir Khojasteh is a painter and sculptor born in 1988 in Tehran, Iran where he lives and works. He has participated in many international fairs - such as NADA, Artsy and Art Dubai - and in auctions organized by Sotheby's. In his works, Khojesteh, plays with the concept of fear by creating expressive and intense portraits. Inspired primarily by the political conditions and events that influence the lives of people in his country and around the world, Khojasteh also refers to art history, popular culture and his personal life to inform his artistic practice. “All the conditions of my personal life and also the human unconscious and the feelings it holds - such as love, fear, fantasy, happiness, absurdity - are inexhaustible resources of inspiration for my works. A research that starts from the depths of my soul and which is the means through which I try to show everyday events, sometimes simple, other times complicated in a surreal way and to involve my audience even for just a moment." Khojasteh said.
