The Gold and Silver of Celuk

Famous for its tradition of gold and silver working, Celuk is considered one of the most important arts and crafts centers on the island. The villagers have been known for centuries for their skill and craftsmanship in creating high quality gold and silver jewelery and decorative objects, passing down the artistic legacy from father to son. Visiting the village, you can see the artisans at work in their homes/workshops or shops glittering with elaborate jewelery such as rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, as well as decorative items such as statues and objets d'art. The peculiarity of local production is the attention to detail and the precision of the creations, obtained through the use of traditional craft techniques such as metal casting, chiselling, filigree and engraving. But all that glitters is not gold or silver, in fact it is also possible to find other materials, such as pearls, precious stones and wood, which are combined with the precious metal and it is also possible to commission personalized jewels.
