Milan rediscovers the grace and power of ballet through an extraordinary triple bill that spans different eras and styles. Opening the evening is Études by Harald Lander, a refined homage to classical discipline. Created in 1948 for the Royal Danish Ballet, this piece elevates the dancer’s daily training to a poetic and theatrical experience, capturing the journey from practice barre to full artistic expression. Next is Petite Mort, Jiří Kylián’s 1991 jewel, originally choreographed for Nederlands Dans Theater. Set to two of Mozart’s most beloved concertos, the work explores the fragile intersection between physical effort and erotic tension, blending sensuality and restraint with striking visual minimalism. At the core of the evening is Boléro by Maurice Béjart, the iconic 1961 choreography set to Ravel’s hypnotic score. A crescendo of collective intensity and rhythm, it famously unfolds atop a round table - this time welcoming back star dancer Roberto Bolle, whose presence electrifies the piece’s ritualistic energy.
