From the ruins of the contemporary, poetry still rises

From the ruins of the contemporary, poetry still rises
#Exhibitions

The title of the exhibition takes inspiration from the disturbing visions of the American feminist poet Adrienne Rich. An Atlas of the Difficult World is an ode to the fascination with the ruins of today's reality. Yet in the midst of that cracked ground, populated with wrecks and waste, there is still place for poetry. Whether it is the skeleton of an animal made of metal, a group of Filipino maids playing cards, a submarine that cannot sink: bodies, emotions, technology and nature are fragments of different stories and marked by disparate plots and structures. Yet as the basis of artistic creation, they are extracted, refined, and reshaped into something new. Demonstrating that individual creativity nourishes a poetics and a polyphonic artistic consciousness that expands throughout the rooms of the Macalline Center of Art and reverberates from one image to another.
