All humanity, in Hu Xiangcheng's sound installation
#Exhibitions

Hu Xiangcheng is an artist who has traveled extensively and has had the opportunity to deal with different cultures. In art he experimented with various forms of expression. His works evolve into various forms and flourish like living creatures, responding to the times and adapting to changes. Certainly the painting marks the starting point and most lasting approach of Hu Xiangcheng. Over the years, his interdisciplinary activities and various creations beyond painting have not only broadened his horizons and opened his mind, but also contributed to his deeper understanding of painting. When he returns to the studio, the artist uses his painting to express conflicting feelings and complicated thoughts that go beyond words. At PSA Hu Xiangcheng exhibits the sound installation Asking Everyday. It is a hand-cranked mechanical device that juxtaposes 365 objects, made from natural materials from ancient and modern times and from around the world. Mechanical rotation causes objects to emit percussive sounds and vocal improvisations that are at once familiar and strange, pointing to the reality that humanity questions every day.
