Beauty and form: these are the two Greek words, kalos and eidos, from which "Kaleidos" takes its name. Yet the title inevitably also evokes the kaleidoscope, where colours and geometries shift with every movement, creating endlessly changing combinations. It is the perfect image for Bvlgari’s creative universe. At the Power Station of Art, Bvlgari Kaleidos: Colors, Cultures and Crafts brings together more than 300 creations, ranging from high jewellery and pieces from the Bvlgari Heritage Collection to loans from private collections. Gemstones, light and chromatic combinations trace the history of the Maison from its origins to the present day, revealing how colour has become one of its most distinctive languages. Specially reimagined for Shanghai, the exhibition unfolds across three chapters - The Science of Colors, Color Symbolism and The Power of Light - bringing Eastern and Western sensibilities into dialogue. Works by Chinese artists Liang Manqi and Zhang Ding extend this interplay of reflections: as in a kaleidoscope, jewellery, art and different cultures come together to create new visions.
