Sudō Reiko is one of Japan's most influential contemporary textile designers. Known throughout the world for the creation of innovative fabrics, for the attention to new sustainable production methods and the scrupulous research work aimed at highlighting the Japanese textile heritage and history, Sudō founded forty years ago the brand Nuno, a leading company in the field of fabric design. This exhibition presents Sudō's creative journey through multimedia installations and a multiplicity of documents and it offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at textile production, including collaborations with artisans and factories across Japan and the efforts of the designer and her team to expand the possibilities offered by materials.
