This is Yang Song’s third exhibition at Aye Gallery. The show centers on the use of clay, crafted into installations with delicate threads, to explore vulnerability as a gateway to a reflection on existence. Initially, Yang Song sought to contain the material’s imperfections by using fabrics such as cotton and linen. However, starting in 2014 with the work Metamorphosis, the artist developed a new perspective: cracks are no longer seen as flaws, but as evidence of the natural conflict between elements and temporal forces. Drawing inspiration from German philosopher Heidegger, Song interprets fractures as revelations of the relationship between the visible and the invisible. Within the exhibition space, light and shadow enhance these "fissures," symbols of the ongoing search for truth. The artist invites viewers to recognize fragility as a path toward a more genuine existence, even in an era dominated by technology.
