The world through the eyes of the diaspora

The world through the eyes of the diaspora
#Exhibitions

The landscapes of the soul are the theme at the center of a large exhibition dedicated to landscape art which has the ambition to expand and redefine this expressive genre. Over 30 contemporary works - paintings, photography, films, tapestries, collages - created by young emerging and internationally renowned artists such as Hurvin Anderson, Phoebe Boswell, Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Kimathi Donkor, Isaac Julien, Marcia Michael, Mónica de Miranda and Alberta Whittle. The exhibition opens by examining the theme of belonging in relation to the natural world and considers the various ways in which we experience our relationship with the planet. A theme that connects to our sense of identity, connection and security. Reflecting on landscapes and memory, the exhibition considers how artists have used the natural world to tell both personal and universal stories.
