The Museo Diocesano Carlo Maria Martini becomes the stage for international photography with the exhibition Sony World Photography Awards 2025, curated by Barbara Silbe. Following the London awards ceremony, the Italian edition showcases 141 works by 52 photographers, selected from over 419.000 images submitted from more than 200 countries. The result is a visual journey that tells the story of our time through narratives, faces, and landscapes, suspended between beauty and contradiction.
At the heart of the exhibition is Zed Nelson’s The Anthropocene Illusion, awarded Photographer of the Year - a powerful and lucid reflection on the ambiguous relationship between humankind and nature, torn between the desire to preserve it and the inability to stop its destruction. Alongside his work are images by Chantal Pinzi, winner of the Sport category with Shred the Patriarchy, and by Italian photographers Giovanni Capriotti and Alessandro Gandolfi, awarded in the Perspectives and Still Life categories. An exhibition that turns photography into storytelling, memory, and testimony of the present.
