Cirque du Soleil is an international circus entertainment company that has created, produced, distributed and performed shows for approximately 180 million live spectators, in 450 cities in 90 countries on five continents. Founded in Montreal in 1984 by ex-fire eater Guy Laliberté at the age of 23, Cirque du Soleil today has more than 5.000 employees who animate 24 shows around the world. With Crystal, Cirque du Soleil explores entirely new creative territory for the first time in the company's nearly 40-year history. This unique production pushes the boundaries of circus arts by combining breathtaking skating and acrobatic feats that defy imagination. Acrobats and skaters perform on ice and in the air, seamlessly combining synchronized skating, freestyle figures and extreme skating together with traditional circus disciplines such as swinging trapeze, aerial straps and hand-to-hand.
