Everyone knows Elton John and his extraordinary musical talent. Author of legendary songs such as "Your song, Tiny dancer, Rocket-man, Candle in the wind, Elton John is also a great art lover and over the years together with his husband David Furnish he has given life to a precious collection of works of art. Among the artists that Elton and David have collected, masterpieces by Damien Hirst and David Hockney and works by some of the most important talents of the twentieth century such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, Cecily Brown stand out. One of the highlights of Elton John's art collection is his extensive photography collection and he is believed to have one of the largest private photography collections in the world. The exhibition will feature over 300 rare prints by over 140 photographers, spanning the period from the 1950s to the present day and bringing together for the first time an unrivaled selection of the world's leading photographers to tell the story of modern and contemporary photography, featuring works by Robert Mapplethorpe, Cindy Sherman, William Eggleston, Diane Arbus, Sally Mann and others.
